Today I leave you the recipe for a dessert with a little used ingredient but which is actually added in many desserts in the East, poppy seeds !!The Lemon and Poppy Seed Plumcake is a soft and fragrant dessert. Perfect to soak or to accompany a cup of tea, perhaps with a veil of citrus jam on the surface if you want to make it even more delicious.

INGREDIENTS

  • 300 00 flour
  • eggs
  • 125 ml plain white yogurt
  • 100 granulated sugar
  • 70 ml seed oil
  • sachet of instant yeast for sweets
  • juice of one lemon
  • grated zest of half a lemon
  • tablespoons poppy seeds
  • pinch of salt

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Start preparing the Lemon and Poppy Seed Plumcake . In a bowl, whip the sugar with the eggs until it becomes a clear mixture, then add the yogurt and mix the ingredients well.
  2. Pour in the oil and continue to mix. Add the grated lemon zest, a pinch of salt and the sifted flour with the baking powder.
  3. Mix all the ingredients and finally add the poppy seeds. Turn on the oven to 180 degrees, grease and flour a loaf pan and pour the mixture into it and bake for 40-45 minutes.
  4. Do the toothpick test to check the cooking. Turn off the oven and let the plum cake cool. Your  Lemon and Poppy Seed Plumcake  is ready to serve
