HOW TO COOK MADELEINE WITH ORANGE AND POPPY SEEDS

Madeleines are typical French shell-shaped sweets, for this a special silicone or aluminum mold is used. Their flavor is very similar to that of a plum cake but more buttery and with an almond aroma.After preparing the classic variant and the coffee variant , today I made the Madeleine with orange and poppy seeds with a unique aroma and flavor.I rarely prepare them because my daughter is able to eat them all in a short time but sometimes I have to make them because they are too good !!! INGREDIENTS
- 3 eggs
- 150 g granulated sugar
- 250 g flour 00
- half a sachet of instant baking powder
- zest of an organic orange
- 2 tablespoons poppy seeds
- 120 g butter
- half a vial of almond extract
- 50 ml milk
INSTRUCTIONS
- Start preparing the Madeleine with orange and poppy seeds . Beat the eggs with the sugar with an electric mixer, add the grated zest of half an orange and the almond extract.
- Continue whipping until the dough becomes fluffy (3-4 minutes). Sift the flour with the baking powder and add it to the egg mixture, stirring with a spatula from bottom to top.
- Add the milk and melted butter previously cooled and finally the poppy seeds. Let the mixture rest in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
- Take the mold and pour the mixture with the help of a teaspoon, pour a little at a time as it swells a lot during cooking. Bake in the preheated oven at 190 ° C for 10-12 minutes.
- Before serving, sprinkle with icing sugar. Your Madeleine with orange and poppy seeds are ready to be served, it is an excellent sweet to serve at tea time.
